Accessibility statement

In order to provide the greatest possible accessibility, the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin – Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Berlin State Library) is committed to optimizing their website. The legal basis for this is the Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz (Disability Discrimination Act, BGG) and the Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung (Information Technology Accessibility Act, BITV).

For this purpose a manual Test will be run, developed by the Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C): metadata, contrast, the adjustable size of the content, etc., will be tested for accessibility.

The current Handschriftenportal (Manuscripts Portal) website is a temporary solution. This concerns especially its design, as the portal is under development. At the conclusion of its development and after the online portal will have been released, professional BITV-Tests will be run on the entire website. This will be carried out by a certified agency.
